For Fastest Service with Diagnostics and Programming include the following information:

  • Year, Make, Model
  • VIN
  • Is it a new or used part?
  • What did the customer bring the vehicle in for?
  • What are the specific symptoms? Are they always present? 
  • Who owns the vehicle? Customer? Used Car Lot? Auction?
  • What codes are present?
  • What is the vehicle history? What repairs have already been performed?
  • Is there anything else about the vehicle we should know?

Best Practices for Programming

  • Battery must be in good condition and fully charged
  • All Ignition Keys present when programming (Some Vehicles) Ask if applies.
  • Adequate work area where the doors and hood can be opened (out of direct sunlight if possible)
  • Leave the Old Module installed until the new module is ready to be installed and programmed. (Ford Only)
  • Keep the Old Module until the vehicle is running with the new module.
  • Is there scan tool communication with the old module? new module?
  • The reason the module is being replaced or updated? Reoccurring codes? TSB? No Start? 
  • The replacement module is new? used? reman? 
  • Where was the replacement module purchased? dealer? aftermarket? 
  • Do you have a PIN code to program the new computer? (Chrysler only)
  • Did the engine run with the old module?
  • Service Call Disclaimer: An $100 service charge may be applied if module is incorrect or cannot be programmed due to vehicle or module fault.
