- What did the customer bring the vehicle in for?
- What are the specific symptoms? Are they always present?
- Who owns the vehicle? Customer? Used Car Lot? Auction?
- What codes are present?
- What is the vehicle history? What repairs have already been performed?
- Is there anything else about the vehicle we should know?

Best Practices for Programming
- Battery must be in good condition and fully charged
- All Ignition Keys present when programming (Some Vehicles) Ask if applies.
- Adequate work area where the doors and hood can be opened (out of direct sunlight if possible)
- Leave the Old Module installed until the new module is ready to be installed and programmed. (Ford Only)
- Keep the Old Module until the vehicle is running with the new module.
- Is there scan tool communication with the old module? new module?
- The reason the module is being replaced or updated? Reoccurring codes? TSB? No Start?
- The replacement module is new? used? reman?
- Where was the replacement module purchased? dealer? aftermarket?
- Do you have a PIN code to program the new computer? (Chrysler only)
- Did the engine run with the old module?
